Apparently Not Everyone Liked Schaefer
So what can I say about a picture like this. Must have been we were gaining expereince and learning about other beers - or maybe someone was just having fun. Actually I still think Schaefer was one of the better beers back then, though I do miss Schmidts. No not Schlitz - I mean Schmidts because it was the better of the two. Then again I seem to remember that I soon graduated to things like Blackberry Brandy, Tango, Yago Sangria, Mateus, MD 20-20, Ripple, Annie Green Springs (or was it Farms), Zeller Schwartze Katz, Jack Daniels, Old Grand Dad, Wild Turkey, Mellow Corn, Vodka, Gordons Gin (good enough for Bogart in the African Queen it was good enough for me until I found Tanqueray), to Legal Ades, and finally to a canteen full of, well let's just say, full of lemonade - great lemonade at that. It's a wonder I am not an alcoholic; and yes I still like a cold one now and then, and a shot too.All the best,Glenn B

My stomach is turning just reading your list. Let's not forget the Boones Farm Strawberry Hill, Apple Wine or the Thunderbird Big Frank and Bucky used to buy us kids from the liquor store on Madison and Fresh Pond. I gained experience when I "graduated" to beer after getting tired of not remembering where I lived after drinking that stuff. I actually bought a bottle of Strawberry Hill a few years ago. I took one wiff and the memories of nauseousness came flooding back. Still cost $2.99 which is probably alot considering it was .99 back then.
Thunderbird - the breakfast of champions - I tried never to drink it or MD 20-20 after trying each once. They were indeed terrible. I don't know if I ever drank Strawberry Hill and if it is $2.99 a bottle today, my not trying it was probably a good thing.
Boone's Farm Apple Wine, now there was a good one for a cheap bottle! I love hard apple cider today, but ones of much higher quality that Boone's Farm.
